The definition of Doubt: a feeling of uncertainty or lack of conviction. We all have doubts in our lives and it manifests in many different ways such as: doubts about a relationship, about our financial stability, about major life decisions, or about our health and well-being. For the most part our doubts come and go and depending on the level of issue the effects of doubt can have lasting impressions on our lives. If the feeling of doubt persists in our lives it can lead to not acting on the task or worse yet the regret of the decisions made. Regret is the only outcome of doubt because doubt is as the definition says a lack of conviction aka confidence.
To overcome doubt is a simple process, build confidence. The reason one has doubt is because they are not informed and have to guess on what is the best course of action. When information is gained on a subject so does the confidence on the subject as well. This in turns reduces the amount of doubt that may occur. How does this relate to your athletic performance? We all doubt our capability until we push the boundary of what we thought was possible. You have to push the body every time you get the chance because when you do that you learn that there is another gear at you disposable. Confidence is gained through experience and experimentation. The most options you explore in an effort to gain more knowledge; the more variables you eliminate to lessen you chance of doubt.
