Day of Training 298

As you may or may not know I run a military Crossfit affiliate in Germany named Crossfit GK. It has a mixture of active duty US military, international military and military dependents. Coaching Crossfit is one of my great passions in life and I hope to do for a living when I leave the military. Wow…. Seeing it written out like that is kind of weird and sappy to me. Either way, I really enjoy helping people reach their goals or at least pointing them in the right direction and giving guidance.

Currently we are in the time of year that a worldwide competition is being held that is led by Crossfit HQ. The Crossfit Open is name of the competition and who has the best engine is the name of the game. With being in charge of the affiliate is my job to get encourage people to sign up and to get them to get people who are familiar with Crossfit to come along and join in. More often than not it doesn’t happen, and we only get the members of the gym that want to compete. But today was different, one of the members (Bengt) brought and friend (Carl) and it was a blast. Being able to work with someone that zero concept of what Crossfit was and showing them the basic movements that would be a part of 18.1 (the first workout of the 2018 Open) was great. He put in the work and looked like he enjoyed himself but along with that came something else. Comradery in misery with friends. Lol While sounding like a bad thing it actually is something common to many groups. Misery and pain can bring people together and not always is that a bad thing.

Looks like I hit my mark for today more to come tomorrow.  I know it’s while since I posted but I am going to make sure you have a post every weekday at 9 am so be on the lookout for it. If you like what I am saying like it and tell a friend.
